Dashcam Chronicles Begins
Over the years, I have crossed paths with many bad drivers and pedestrians.
Dangerous drivers who tailgate tractor-trailers on a highway at 70 miles per hour.
Slow drivers who drive at a snail’s speed on a single-lane roadway.
Drunken drivers who swerve in and out of their lanes at 2:30 p.m.
Drunken college kids who stumble across the street and into traffic.
DashcamChronicles.com is dedicated to all of them!
Rexing dashcam
Recently, I bought a dashcam, Rexing V1LG Dual Channel, for $169.99 from Amazon.
I want to protect myself from frivilous lawsuits and unjust traffic citations. If someone causes an accident and tries to blame me, then I will have video evidence to prove my case.
Moreover, I want to share great footages from my life on the road with you. That’s why I launched this website, as well as a new YouTube channel.
Specifications
The Rexing V1LG has a front camera and a rear camera.
-
Front camera records 1080p HD video at 30fps. It’s 170 degree wide angle.
-
Rear camera records 720p HD video at 30fps.
The dashcam comes with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), a GPS logger, a G-sensor and loop recording.
-
WDR fine-tunes the camera exposure so it can perform in low-light conditions.
-
The built-in GPS logger allows you to mark time, date, location and speed information to your recordings.
-
Loop recording: when the camera’s memory card reaches its storage limit, new videos will automatically overwrite the oldest videos. You can split video into intervals of 1, 3, or 5 minutes.
-
The gravity sensor (G-Sensor) detects collisions and locks the current video. This protects the video from being overwritten.
-
The dashcam supports high-endurance micro SD memory cards up to 128GB.
